Levee Crest Maintenance Road Repair Project
The Levee Crest Maintenance Road Repair Project began construction on Monday, August 20. The repair work on the levee crest road will require the use of a moving construction zone and barricades and signage will be placed to keep pedestrians safe and out of the work area. The Authority requests the cooperation of the public by refraining from using the levee for recreation during this time.
The work along the Wyoming Valley Flood Risk Management Project will occur in the following reaches of the project: Forty Fort to Wyoming, Kingston to Edwardsville, Plymouth and Wilkes-Barre to Hanover Township. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, saw cutting and repairing longitudinal and transverse cracks in the road surface, miscellaneous road shoulder repairs, the removal of approx. 60 obsolete USACE control monuments in the road surface, and the installation of station identification markings atop the pavement surface.
The contractor anticipates that the entire project will be complete in approximately 6 weeks, weather dependent. Further updates will be provided as the work progresses.
