National Levee Database Survey Standard

At the February 18, 2020, regular meeting of the Authority Board, the Board awarded an agreement to provide professional surveying services to Borton-Lawson Engineers, 613 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes-Barre, PA, in the amount $25,350.00, to perform a survey of the entire Wyoming Valley Flood Risk Management Project, approximately 16 miles in length, in order to update and confirm top of protections elevations throughout the system.  The survey is to be completed in accordance with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) National Levee Database (NLD) Survey Standards, dated June 26, 2015.  The survey is being performed in support of a planned levee certification effort on the Wyoming Valley flood protection system by the USACE in 2020.

The NLD survey standard defines the minimum positional data and supporting inventory levee infrastructure collection standards for levee infrastructure within the USACE programs.  The goal is to collect accurate horizontal, vertical and supporting data on levee features to this standard and populating a database with the collected information.
